New Delhi, India: A 34-year-old man was rammed from behind by a drunk driver who was driving a vehicle.
The incident happened on Maa Anandmayee Marg in southeast Delhi.
The victim has been identified as Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Molarband, Badarpur.
Kumar was a worker that dealt with aluminum frames.
The police said that the incident happened near SI hospital on Maa Anandmayee Marg in southeast Delhi’s Okhla Industrial Area on the evening of July 18, 2020.
Kumar was rushed to a hospital after he was hit from behind.
The police said that he was declared dead upon arrival.
Yashpal Bidhuri (29), the driver of the car, was drunk when the incident happened.
He left the scene and was arrested by the police with the help of the public after a hefty chase.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) R P Meena confirmed the news.
Bidhuri is facing charges under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 A (causing death by negligence).
The driver of the vehicle is involved in property dealing.
