Overspeeding Maharashtra State Transport Bus Runs Over Biker In Thane, Driver Arrested
A Maharashtra State Transport Bus Driver was arrested by the police after a bus ran over a 27-year-old man and killed him in Thane, Maharashtra.
The bus driver was detained after the accident and a case was registered against him.
The accident happened on the evening of October 29, 2019, in the Murbad area of Thane, Maharashtra.
Preliminary investigations revealed that 27-year-old Suraj, the biker, was on his way to the Vidhe Village from Gorha when the accident happened.
Investigations also found out that the bus was overspeeding.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) hit the biker and ran over him, which killed him on the spot.
The body of 27-year-old Suraj was sent for an autopsy in a government-run hospital.
The bus driver was detained by the authorities and a case against him was registered.
The bus driver, whose identity was not shared with the public, is facing charges under the Indian Penal Code Section 304-A (causing death by negligence) and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The body of the biker will be handed over to his family after the autopsy, so they can perform the last rites.
