Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna (70) passed away today in Reliance Research Hospital in Mumbai. Vinod Khanna is known as one of the handsome heroes of the 70s-80s. He acted in around 150 films. He had been battling Cancer for a while and breathed his last on Thursday Morning.
He was hospitalized in March and was said due to a case of severe dehydration. But fans and media were taken aback when pictures of a weak looking Vinod Khanna started going viral. After the pictures came as a shock, the whole Bollywood fraternity and especially his fans understood how serious the veteran actor’s condition is.
Vinod’s elder son Rahul Khanna used to give updates and assured fans that their hero was recovering well. Everyone was hoping to take Vinod back home soon. Sorrowfully, that day didn’t come. Just three days before, Rahul Khanna has posted a picture on the Instagram account which looks like the view from the hospital where Vinod was admitted.
The caption read – ‘One more sunset’.
This seemed like a telling post. Rahul was trying to hint at the seriousness of his father’s condition and his failing health. After Rahul posting the picture with the caption, Vinod’s fans and well-wishers tried to do their bit by sending prayers and strength his way, to tide through these tough times.
While there has been no confirmation as yet, some reports state that the yesteryear hunk had a case of cancer relapse which further affected his health.
According to the hospital, he breathed his last at 11.20 pm due to advanced bladder carcinoma. According to the reports from the family, Vindo Khanna will be cremated in Mumbai today at 4.30 pm.
Vinod Khanna had a successful film career ever since he made his Bollywood debut in 1968. His success even continued as a political leader as well. He was the sitting MP from Gurdaspur.
He was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer Dilwale in 2015 and was loved for his role of Pandeyji, Chulbul Pandey – Salman Khan’s father in the Dabangg series.
