A 67-yer-old retired police officer was arrested for killing his daughter’s stalker in Badlapur District of Maharashtra.
67-year-old Namdeo Koyonde, a retired assistant sub-inspector, was arrested by the police in Badlapur on Wednesday for killing Sachin Shinde.
Shinde reportedly met his widowed daughter on a social media platform.
According to reports, Shinde met the daughter of Namdeo on a number of occasions, but when the father of the woman found about their relationship, he objected and stopped her from meeting Shinde.
Namdeo stopped his daughter from meeting Shinde because of his financial status.
Shinde worked as a laborer in Sangli, Badlapur.
The daughter of Namdeo stopped meeting Shinde, but he didn’t stop there.
Shinde started to stalk the woman and was reprimanded by the father of the woman on a number of occasions.
Namdeo told Shinde to stop stalking her daughter, but Shinde didn’t stop.
On January 22, 2020, Namdeo caught Shinde stalking them again when he was taking his grandchild to the school.
Angered with the fact Shinde kept on stalking his family, Namdeo, a retired police officer, stabbed him to death with a knife.
Locals took Shinde to a hospital in Badlapur but was declared dead upon arrival by the doctors.
Deepak Deshmukh, a senior police inspector of Badlapur East police station, confirmed the incident and added that they have the retired police officer.
Officer Deshmukh said Namdeo was carrying a knife with him all the time to kill the stalker.
67-year-old Namdeo Koyonde is currently facing charges under the Indian Penal Code section 302.
Authorities have launched an investigation for the murder case.
