Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh: A teenage girl was found unconscious after being raped and singed with cigarettes by 2 men.

According to reports, the girl is currently undergoing treatment at a district hospital in Gorakhpur.

The girl was found unconscious by locals on August 15, 2020.

The police have registered a case against Arjun, who is from the Dehribhar village of Gorakhpur, and a man, whose identity was not shared with the public.

Arjun and the other man were arrested on the basis of a written complaint from the survivor’s mother.

According to reports, the teenage girl, whose age was not shared with the public, went to fetch water from a hand pump on the evening of Friday.

The 2 accused forcibly took her to a hut near a pond in the village on a motorcycle and allegedly raped her.

The girl managed to identify one of the men, which is Arjun and told her mother about him.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sunil Kumar Gupta said:

A case of kidnapping, gangrape and under sections of the POCSO Act is registered against the two men on a complaint from the survivor’s mother. A hunt is on for the accused.

The current condition of the girl is unknown.
