Telangana State Government Plans Hugely With Lights, Food, Fun On Cards For Formation Day Celebrations

As the telangana state is gearing up for the 3rd-anniversary celebrations, Minister for tourism and culture Azmeera Chandulal informed that the Telangana government has released Rs 15 crore to the districts to organize celebrations for the three-day fete.

Speaking to the reporters in Hyderabad, he said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements in the capital and illuminate all the historical structures, monuments, offices for the occasion.

53 persons will be honored by KCR on the eve of Telangana Formation Day while ministers and representatives will present awards to 341 persons in the districts.

2.27 crore is being spent on the awards with state-level award winners getting a cash prize of Rs 1.16 lakh and district-level awards – Rs 51,000 cash prize.

Not only this, for the next one week, visitors can check out a sand sculpture depicting Martyrs’ Memorial, Telangana Talli and K. Chandrasekhar Rao on the road opposite NTR Garden.

“I was asked to do a sand sculpture for Telangana Formation Day and the best way to represent it, I felt was the Martyrs’ Memorial and Telangana Talli. I gave the proposal and the Mayor accepted it,” said Tarini Prasad Mishra, the sand artist from Srikakulam who has been drafted for the project. “We brought in two tractor loads of river sand for this. By tomorrow we will create a gallery kind of space for people to watch it. The sculpture will be kept for one week,” Mr. Mishra added.

Starting from June 2, a three-day carnival will begin with a hoard of cultural programs, including classical dance, Kavi Sammelan, Qawwali, Jaya Jaya He Telangana, Sufi music, Perini Dance, ghazals and others will be conducted at Ravindra Bharathi. A Telangana Food Festival is also planned to be organized at the People’s Plaza.
