Thieves Rob Indian Woman’s House When She Was Out Buying Face Masks Amidst Coronavirus
Thieves in Pune, India, broke inside the house of a 25-year-old woman when she stepped out to buy a face mask so she could keep herself safe from the novel coronavirus.
The thieves also stole cash and jewelry that was worth around Rs. 46,000.
According to reports, the incident happened at a housing society in Hadapsar, Pune, on the evening of Thursday.
The woman said she was out buying masks in large numbers from a pharmacy so she could protect herself from the virus.
The woman, whose identity was not shared with the public, said she locked the doors of the house before she went out to buy a mask.
An officer with the Hadapsar Police Station said, “While she was away, some unidentified persons entered the house by breaking the latch of the main door and stole gold jewelry and Rs 6,000 in cash, worth altogether Rs 46,000, from a cupboard in the bedroom.”

In India alone, there have been 83 confirmed cases of the virus and 2 deaths have been confirmed.
