If you are in the taxable bracket, income tax return must be filed by you. After filing your income tax returns, the taxpayer needs to acknowledge his/her income tax return verified. As, earlier in Bengaluru, Taxpayers must send their physical copy of ITR-V duly signed to income tax department within 120 days of the e-filing income tax return.

The process of re-verification, how it does work?
By generating an Electronic Verification Code, income tax returns can be re-verified. On one EVC code only one online income tax return can be verified, So in that case, if you want to reconsider your income tax return, you need to produce another Electronic Verification Code. you are no longer required sending the physical ITR-V to CPC Centre, Bengaluru After verifying your return via EVC.
Following are the ways to understand, how to obtain EVC code-
1. E-verification via Net Banking
For the e-verification through net banking, You first have to log in to your net banking and check whether they are permitted by the income tax department. before using this method for re-verification, PAN should be validated via KYC. after that you need to login to your net banking account and then select an e-verify option, that will redirect you to the government e-filing portal. in this section, you need to click on my account on e-filing page which will produce the EVC. then you will enter that EVC on your registered mobile number and email id.
2. E-verification Via Aadhar card OTP
for using this e-verification method, you first log in to government’s e-filing portal. To generate OTP for re-verification, your Aadhar card must be connected with this portal. after that, you need to click on the option
‘generate Aadhaar OTP to e-Verify my return’. then Aadhaar is verified and linked after that taxpayer would get an OTP to his / her registered mobile number. and the taxpayer can use this OTP to e-verify the tax return. only for 10 minutes, OTP will be valid. After finishing this method, the taxpayer can download the acknowledgment from the registered email address.
3. E-verification via government e-filing portal
E-verification using government e-filing portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in, there are some certain criteria for taxpayers, their income should be less than Rs 5 lakhs and they do not allow to claim a refund. for using this method, directly log on to the government’s e-filing portal mentioned.
4. E-verification Via Bank’s ATM
In this process, the taxpayer can generate EVC by swiping their ATM card by selecting an option of Pin for e-filing. after that, the taxpayer will get the EVC on registered mobile number 5. E-verification Via Demat account
5- E-verification through Demat account method
The depository details should be provided on government e-filing portal before using this process, and the depository should be confirmed that then you need to select profile setting on the portal and pre-validate your demat account. then a taxpayer needs to Choose verification mode as EVC using a demat account.
