Authorities have confirmed that 16 passengers were injured after an MMTS Train in Hyderabad rammed into a stationary train at the Kacheguda Railway Station on November 11, 2019.

The entire accident was caught on a CCTV that was installed at the Kacheguda Railway Station.

Authorities confirmed that 16 people were injured in the train collision, this includes the driver of the train.

The driver of the train was trapped in the cabin of the train, it took the authorities 8 hours to get him out of his mangled cabin.

On November 11, 2019, an express train and an MMTS train had a head-to-head collision at the Kacheguda- Malakpet railway stations in Hyderabad.

The accident left 16 passengers badly injured.

The accident was so massive that the video shows the train lifted off the tracks after it hit the stationary train.

Authorities were informed about the accident right away and the local government was called into the spot right away.

Piyush Goyal, the Union Railway Minister of India, released a statement about the incident on his Twitter account and said, “Received the tragic news of the train accident in Hyderabad & immediate instructions have been given to the authorities for assistance & monitoring.”

It added, “Railway administration is extending assistance & have made arrangements for the treatment of the injured at the accident site.”

Preliminary investigations found out that the MMTS train was coming from Lingampally and was headed to Falaknuma at 10:30 am on November 11, 2019, when the accident happened.

The express train was coming from Kurnool and was headed towards Secunderabad at Kanchegunda railway station.

6 coaches of the MMTS service and 3 coaches of the Hundry Express were affected by the massive accident. 16 people were also injured in the accident.

The injured passengers were rushed to the Osmania General Hospital, out of which 2 passengers were discharged by the doctors.

Authorities believe that the train operator of the MMTS Train failed to locate the signal and overshoot it, which led to the accident.

An official inquiry into the accident has been ordered by the South Central Railway.
