Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni launched the trailer of “M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story”, a biopic based on his own life. It was unveiled in front of approximately 35,000 people at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, Punjab.
When asked why the city of Jalandhar was selected to unveil the trailer, Dhoni said: “There is a purpose why we chose this city to release the trailer. Jalandhar is famous for its cricket bats which we all use.”
“We have shown the bats made here in the film as well,” he added.
The next stop for the trailer launch will be Delhi. The reason why Delhi has been a place chosen is because the city holds an interesting connect with the Real and Reel Dhoni.
Neeraj Pandey, the director of the film said: “I know Dhoni from his struggling days. It’s rare for someone to remain so humble even after achieving so much success. I met Dhoni and offered to make film on his life and he immediately agreed,” he added.
Dhoni was so much impressed with the trailer that he said it brought back the memories of his old days. He also clicked selfies with the students.
Starring Sushant Singh Rajput in lead role & Produced by Arun Pandey and Fox Star studios, the film is all set to release on September 30th, 2016.
