Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturing firm has unveiled its new smartphone in India called Redmi Note Prime at an affordable price of Rs. 8,499. The company has announced that the smartphone will be exclusively available on the leading E-commerce portal Amazon.in and the company’s official website Mi.com, starting 10 am on 15th December, i.e., from Tuesday. In collaboration with the ‘Make in India’ plan, this would be the first smartphone manufactured in India from the popular Chinese smartphone makers, Xiaomi.
Redmi Note Prime smartphone would also be the second Mi phone to be manufactured in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, in partnership with Foxconn Technology Group. A couple of days back, the company has announced that it is planning to launch Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime in India on December 15. As promised, the company has launched the smartphone in India and will go for sale starting tomorrow.
Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 2GB RAM. The device measures 154 x 78.7 x 9.4mm and weighs 185 grams. On the storage front, the smartphone include an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The Redmi Note Prime runs on Android 4.4 KitKat-based MIUI 7.
On the camera front, the device comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front-facing camera. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality, Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio, microUSB 2.0, USB-OTG and GPS/ A-GPS. The smartphone is backed by a 3100mAh battery.

Redmi Note Prime is priced at Rs. 8, 499 that comes with a support for 4G dual SIM connectivity. The smartphone will go on sale starting December 15 on Amazon.in and Mi.com. It was speculated that the company may launch the Redmi Note 2 Prime smartphone in India soon.
