Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao during an event at the Shivaji Park to mark the 70th republic day parade said: “Maharashtra has received 30 percent of the FDI which came to India. The state received $13.5 billion FDI this financial year. I am sure, Maharashtra will become the first trillion dollar economy state by 2025. The government is also committed to further improving the ease of doing business in the state.”
The Maharashtra government is committed to double the incomes of the farmers by the year 2022, he said that around 41 lakh farmers have already benefited from the farm loan waiver scheme called Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojana.
He added: “With a view to providing weather-related information to farmers in real time, project Mahavedh has been made operational in all 2,060 revenue circles in the state.”
Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao said that the government has also launched a program called ‘Maha Agritech’, this is to help solve the agrarian problems with the help of the drones and satellites.
The Government of Maharashtra has also led the implementation of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme’ and the ‘Restructured Weather Based Fruit Crop Insurance Scheme’.
Around 52 lakh farmers have got the compensation of Rs. 2700 crores under the scheme called Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme, and Rs. 565 crores were received by one lakh farmers under the under the Restructured Weather Based Fruit Crop Insurance Scheme.
The governor also said that for fast development of Maharashtra, a donation of Rs. 22, 122 crores have been made under the SMP (Special Measures Programme) in 2018, Rs. 13,422 will be sent on 89 irrigation projects.
More than fifteen thousand villages across the state got water under the under the ‘Jalyukta Shivar Yojana’. Also, around 5 lakh works have already been done, this has created a water storage capacity of 24.36 lakhs.
In a scheme called ‘Galmukt dharan ani galyukt shivar’, more than 3 crore cubic meters of silt have been removed from more than 500 reservoirs, this benefitted 31,150 farmers.
A scheme called the ‘Farm Pond on Demand’ an award from the PM as one of the best innovative initiatives, in this scheme more than 1.37 lakh farm ponds were created.
Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao said that the government has passed the Socially and Educationally Backward Class Reservation Bill, this will allow them to provide a quote in the educational institutions and posts appointments for the backward classes.
Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao said: “This will definitely help Maratha youths for their advancements in education and employment.” He also said that the ‘Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Amrut Ahaar Yojana’ is now being implemented in those tribal areas that have a lot of malnutrition and anemia problems, they are also helping 1.59 lakh, pregnant women.
Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao said, in order to attain the goal of having affordable housing for everyone by the year 2020, more than 10 lakh beneficiaries are registered in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and around 3 lakh houses have now been completed.
The renewal of 10,500 kilometers of roads under the annuity model is now approved and the government has ordered to work on 8000 km
The Governor said: “Further, nearly 30,000 km of rural roads are being upgraded in rural areas under the Chief Minister Gram Sadak Yojana. Nearly 6,000 km of rural roads have been completed.”
The work on Navi Mumbai International Airport has begun, and the government is planning to add around 10 airports in the state.
