Officer: Reunion of Nagarjuna – Ram Gopal Verma after two decades coming this week in cinemas

After two decades Nagarjuna and filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma has reunited and are about to launch their new film Officer this week in theaters. The film is about an officer who is honest and does his job sincerely, which is set to release on 1st June. However, the film was planned to release a bit earlier which is on may 25th but for some reason was postponed and now Officer releasing on 1st June.

Even after being the 5th film they both have done together there is a long gap between Officer and the movie they did before this, two decades long. The duo has produced the fantastic film in past so fans are expecting something unusual again from there reunion and hopefully they will be not disappointed.

There were a lot of rumors when people were saying it was almost a rip off of a Hollywood movie Taken which was declined by Ram Gopal Verma and he noted Siva which was a movie of a young college kid who had no power but took it upon himself to fight for justice, now Imagine a police officer who has potential and is ready t fight for justice. Shiva being a college student did so much Imagine what a police officer can do who has a lot more potential compared to a college student.

Ram Gopal Verma also said the movie is inspired by a real-life person, who is an IPS officer KM Prasanna. He tweeted The Story of Officer is based true life IPS officer K M Prasanna from Karnataka, who was appointed as the chief of a SIT (Special Investigation Team) to investigate a highly reputed cop in Mumbai. It’s the details that IPS officer K M Prasanna personally told me in 2010 that finally became the story of Officer. Nagarjuna is playing Mr. Prasanna, who at present is the Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Mumbai. (sic)”

Previously when Officer was called a violent film by Censors board, Nagarjuna gave a statement “I wouldn’t call Officer a violent film. It’s brutal and the last 20 minutes are outstanding. The action will be intense and realistic as well.”
