Recently dropped trailer of Soorma has stunned a lot of people, and the video has gone viral. Fans are going crazy over the trailer and can not wait for the movie to drop. In an interview, Soorma directed said what made Diljit Dosanjh perfect fit for the film.
Diljit plays the role of Sandeep Singh. Sandeep Singh is a world-class hockey player of India. In an interview, Soorma’s director Shaad Ali gave a reason why the actor was an obvious choice for the fil. He said, “Diljit was the obvious choice for the film because he looked the part. I was not trying to find too much resemblance. That was not my criteria, because I was trying to go with the look, who would look honest in that part.”
He also said talking about the problems of making a biopic,
“Biopics comes with an added responsibility because you are dealing with a real-life person. It’s not easy to make a biopic, but if you work with that persona and his or her family, things get easy,”
Sandeep Singh debut in 2004 and never stopped since he went on becoming one of the world’s best drag-flicker. While he was at the peak of his glory, in a tragic event which left him nearly paralyzed. A bullet hit him as one of the police protection force officer’s pistol went off accidentally and hit him on his back.
Almost paralyzed and unable to use his legs, India lost a champion on that day as he got stuck with a wheelchair.
Things got worst, as he soon was forgotten by his Country and his love, but with a mind hard-wired with a will to go on. A champion was melted in the crucible of hard work crafting a Legend.
Two years, no one heard about him, and people moved on. This is the story of his hard work and passion and will to never give up brought him back on the field and country got his champion back.
The movie is written and directed by Shaad Ali and is set to hit the theaters on July 13, 2018.
