10 Things You Must Know About The Baahubali’s Scariest Villain ‘Kalakeya’ Prabhakar

It is definite that the sequel of 2015’s Baahubali- The Beginning, ‘The Conclusion’ has already overshadowed the former one. But, there are certain scenes from the first installment that are unforgettable. Especially the performances of Rana Daggubati as Bhallaladeva and the other antagonist Prabhakar who played the role of Kalakeya.

No matter, however, best the sequel can be, there are certain scenes of Kalakeya in the prior part that cannot go out of our minds. The language of its own kind, the physique actor carried, the wilderness in the gait, nothing less than his co-stars.

The journey of this role player, Prabhakar into the film industry is not an easy one, it is no cakewalk for him just like it was for many legendary actors. Starting from playing the minimal roles in Telugu films, Prabhakar somehow managed to bag prominent roles in Rajamouli’s two prominent movies. Before Baahubali, Prabhakar has worked with Rajamouli in his years’ old project ‘Maryada Ramanna’.

1) Prabhakar came to Hyderabad to attend a wedding after completing intermediate. There his relatives were impressed with his physique and suggested him to get a job in railway police. He dedicated 6 years to bag a job, however, he failed.

2) Later to that, Prabhakar came to know that Rajamouli is in the hunt for the new actors for his movie ‘Magadheera’, Prabhakar attended the auditions.  Rajamouli didn’t say a word after that, simply took him to Rajasthan where the shooting was going on.

3) After returning from Rajasthan, Prabhakar once again started searching for the job, luckily he got an opportunity to work with Rajamouli in his ‘Maryada Ramanna’ movie.

4) It was then, Prabhakar revealed that he doesn’t know acting, Rajamouli then introduced him to Devdas Kanakala and urged him to teach acting to Prabhakar, even paid him Rs 10,000 per month.

5) His role in Maryada Ramanna was critically acclaimed, that roped in many roles for Prabhakar in other popular movies.

6) However, it was the role of Kalakeya that gave him breakthrough as an actor.

7) Thanks to Rajamouli for bringing in one of the deadliest villains to the film industry, his dedication in developing Prabhakar as an actor is inspiring which no filmmaker has ever done.

8) Playing the role of Kalakeya was no easy job, Prabhakar used to wake up at 3 am in order to learn the specially created Kilkili language. He adds that his wife helped him in learning this language.

9) Post Baahubali- The Beginning, Prabhakar’s kitty was full of offers and he played an important role in Allu Arjun’s Sarrainodu, which is currently one of the highest grossing Telugu films.
