116-Years-Old Japanese Woman Named As The World’s Oldest Living Person

A Japanese Woman who is 116-years-old has been named as the world’s oldest living person by the Guinness World Records. The 116-year-old plays board games and loves to study math.

Kane Tanaka the 116-year-old woman was born on January 2, 1903. In 1903, the Wright Brothers just launched the world’s first powered flight, which is according to the Guinness World Records.

The recognition as the World’s Oldest Living Person was celebrated by Kane Tanaka at the nursing she lives in, the nursing home is located in the Western Fukuoka, Japan. She was well wished by Mayor Soichiro Takashima.

After she was asked about what was her happiest moment in life, she simply said “Now”.

Kane married Hideo Tanaka in the year 1922, she gave birth to 4 kids and adopted one.

Usually, Kane Tanaka wakes up early in the morning by 6 AM, in the afternoon, she studies mathematics and practices calligraphy.

The Guinness World Records said: “One of Kane’s favorite pastimes is a game of Othello and she’s become an expert at the classic board game, often beating rest-home staff.”

Japan is home to some of the oldest people who have ever lived in the world, the country also has the world’s highest life expectancies.

Jiroemon Kimura, the oldest living man record holder was also from Japan, he was 116 years old. Jiroemon passed away soon after celebrating his 116th birthday in 2013.

But the oldest living person was from France – Jeanne Louise Calment, according to Guinness World Records, Jeanne passed away at the age of 122 in 1997.
