Employees have filed cases of Sexual Harassment against All India Radio, but they are still under probe said the National Commission for Women on Monday.
A hearing was conducted in the NCW office where complaints were heard of the said Sexual Harassments, they were filed by Comperes Union (AIRCACU) and All India Radio Casual Announcer.
AIRCACU members said that they formed a union in July 2017, and since that they have been continuously receiving complaints from all over the country.
NCW said: “The complainants stated that there are some cases in which a re-screening test was passed by the employees concerned, but they have not been given further assignments because of complaints filed by them or on their behalf.”
The employees also added that they have not been updated on their complaints and expressed grievance.
In defense, the representative from AIR said that action has been take in all cases, warning letters, constituting high-power committees, and transferring the accused are just some of the things that they have done.
NCW said: “And in one such case, AIR has also taken action to terminate a regular employee and offered to discuss such cases separately and provide a list,” NCW added.
AIR has offered details about the actions that are being taken and are willing to provide detailed reports to the complainants individually.
NCW added: “DG, AIR will hear other grievances of complainants separately. Gender sensitization program will be conducted for all the employees at regional and zonal level.”
