Authorities in Georgia, USA, arrested 3 people after a toddler was found living in a dog cage in very bad conditions.
According to reports, the boy was found in a cage that was surrounded by snakes, guns, weed plants, and rodents.
The boy was found by the authorities during a raid on a rural trailer, where its owners kept guns, cannabis plants, and over 600 animals.
One of the animals was a lethal boa constrictor python.
Next to the boy’s kennel were 3 buckets of mice with a 10ft boa constrictor. 8 snakes were found inside his room.
Not only that, but maggots and cockroaches were found all over the house.
46-year-old TJ Brown, 42-year-old Heather Scarbrough, and 82-year-old Charles Brown were arrested by the police on Thursday.
The 3 people were arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated animal cruelty, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, manufacturing of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and cruelty to animals
Authorities said that the boy was living in a mobile-home complex with several outbuildings.
Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew said that the kid was found inside a 4 by 4 kennel inside the living room.
The Sherriff said:
Everything that child possessed or played with was in that kennel. With all of the law enforcement experience up here, it’s hard to find something that actually shocks us. I’ve never seen this before, and I can guarantee the gentlemen up here with me have never seen this before.
15 to 20 dogs were also found living around the property.
Talking about the kitchen, the authorities said that it was just unlivable.
Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew added:
It’s a very rural part of the county, you’re not far from the state line. Dale Cemetery Road is not a very travelled road at all. Not much traffic on it whatsoever. They just wanted to live their life. We had to explain to them that there is a norm.
The Animal Rescue Corps was also brought in to the scene to take away the animals that were found by the authorities in the scene.
Authorities found 86 chickens and roosters, 10 rabbits, 4 parakeets, 10 rabbits, 3 cats, 8 snakes, 1 pheasant, 531 rodents, 1 gecko, and 3 sugar gliders.
Not only that, but authorities also found 127 marijuana plants and 17 guns.
That sounds a lot of paperwork for the authorities.
