200 kg of Heroin worth Rs. 600 crores intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard off the Gujarat Coast

The Indian Coast guard intercepted a fishing vessel from Pakistan off the Gujarat coast and found 200 kilograms of Heroin or diamorphine that is worth Rs. 600 crores.

After a chase, the Indian Coast guard intercepted the fishing boat.

A statement was released about the interception, it said that the Indian Coast Guard received a tip-off about the vessel which is “likely to be engaged in drug trafficking.”

The Indian Coast Guard assigned two interceptor boats for a search operation for the suspected vessel, they also deployed a Dornier Aircraft.

The coast guard intercepted the boat by 9:15 am on Tuesday, the name of the boat is Al Madina and had 6 crew members in it.

Al Madina had six Pakistani crew members, they have been arrested and have been sent to Jakhau harbor for interrogation.

The Indian Coast Guard is also trying to figure out where the boat was headed and who was going to take the drugs in.
