50 girls evacuated after fire broke out in a Women’s Hostel near the Janakpuri Metro Station in New Delhi

The DFS (Delhi Fire Service) said that earlier today, 50 girls were evacuated from a girl’s hostel near the Janakpuri metro station in New Delhi today.

6 girls were also rushed to a hospital in the area after inhaling excessive smoke that was released by the fire.

Atul Garg, the Chief Fire Officer of the Delhi Fire Service, said that 2 of the girls have been discharged from the hospital after getting first aid.

According to reports, the Delhi Fire Service received a call about the fire by 3 AM today.

4 fire trucks were rushed to the area.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was caused after an electric panel in the basement of the hostel broke out.

Atul Garg, the Chief Fire Officer of the Delhi Fire Service, added that the fire was under control after 30 minutes.
