A Tweet to the Railway Ministry Helped Parents Find Their 15-Year-Old Daughter Who Had Eloped

A tweet to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu helped the parents to trace their 15-year-old girl who had eloped with her classmate from Jharkhand on Saturday. When the girl’s parents got the information that duo had boarded a train, they decided to tweet and seek help.

Late night on January 29, Sangita Prasad Naray, a resident of Maharashtra, sent an SOS tweet to both @RailMinIndia and @sureshpprabhu saying that a girl eloped with her 10th classmate. She shared the girl’s picture, her name, contact number and the details of the train she was in. She also mentioned that the train was about to reach Bhusawal station.

The ministry of Railways replied to the tweet, took immediate action and alerted the Railway Protection Force as soon as they got this information. They started tracking the two teenagers and surprisingly, it didn’t take a lot of time for the girl and the boy to be located. They finally found them at Nashik station.

Parents of both the kids arrived in Mumbai by flight to take them back. CR’s chief public relations officer Narendra Patil said, “Both kids are safe. They have been saved from falling in wrong hands.”
