After Ishan Kishan’s Terrible Injury Rohit Sharma Hopes For His Quick Recovery

In the 14th match of IPL, Mumbai Indians played against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede. Mumbai Indians won the match but an unfortunate incident happened during the match.

In a freak incident during Mumbai Indians’ home fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore, a throw from Hardik Pandya struck MI’s wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan on the face and left him with a swollen eye. The blow, which brought a brief halt to the game, looked very nasty as Kishan needed medical attention.

The incident happened during the 13th over of RCB’s chase. Kohli played a pull shot off Jasprit Bumrah which Hardik fielded and threw towards the striker’s end. The one-bounce throw took off awkwardly from the rough patch near the pitch and struck Kishan close to his right eye. Kishan winced in pain while on the ground as he was attended to with ice packs. After a while, he walked off the field with a swelling near the eye. Aditya Tare was brought on as a substitute fielder and he handled the ‘keeping duties for the remainder of the game.

“We’ve got a few days before we play the next match – I think 22nd is when we’re playing. So we have three-four days in between where we can assess and hopefully he’ll be fine,” Rohit added.
Rohit Sharma scored 94 from 52 balls to take Mumbai to 213/6. Chasing 214, no batsmen gave support from the other end to Virat Kohli who scored an unbeaten 92 off 62 balls.
Mumbai Indians, who registered their first win of the season by handing RCB a 46-run defeat, travel to Jaipur for their next game against Rajasthan Royals. If Kishan fails to recover and is unavailable for the next game, Tare could get the nod with the Mumbaikar being the only other wicket-keeping option for the team.
Hardik Pandya took to Twitter and tendered apology to the young wicket-keeper batsman.
