The 23-year-old wrestler from Mokhra village near Rohtak, Sakshi Malik, who recently won India’s first medal at the ongoing Rio Olympics, wanted to become a sportsperson to fly in an aeroplane. She expressed her wish in the recent interview.
Sakshi Malik won the first medal for India at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympics, she has been flooded with wishes and felicitations. She said “I never knew what Olympics was, I wanted to become a sportsperson to travel in an aeroplane. If you can represent India, you can board a plane, and fly,”
Air India Gifted 2 Round Trips:
In a letter addressed to the wrestler, Air India said that her victory made them proud and happy.
“Air India is indeed proud to offer you two(for you and your companion) return business class between any two destinations in the entire Air India network valid for a period of one year.” the Chairman and Managing Director of Air India Lohani Ashwani Lohani said in the letter.
Air India offered two business-class tickets for Malik and her chosen companion to any destination across the globe in the airline’s existing network. The tickets are valid for the next one year.
According to reports, the Rohtak girl will receive a total of about Rs 3 crore as cash prizes. The Haryana government has promised her Rs 2.5 crore, the Indian Railways will gift her Rs 60 lakh and the IOA will reward her Rs 20 lakh.
