It is pretty well known that right from the very inception, Reliance JIO has been kicking aside the stereotypic Internet offers, call cutters and other recharge benefits of all the Mobile network companies. Within no time, this telecom firm occupied the large parts of domestic businesses.
The private telecom players such as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are constantly pushing themselves into gaining new customers for their services. Thus, both the telecom providers have been offering never-seen-before offers to claim the top position in the Indian telecom industry.
Since the launch of Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio, telcos including Bharti Airtel are involved in a battle to retain customer base in wake of attractive offers by the latest entrant in the telecom industry.
Reliance was introduced back in September last year, and even since its arrival, the telecom operator that has managed to garner millions of customers has been giving sleepless nights to other telecom giants like Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea Cellular. Telecom operators, including Airtel, have been introducing plans aggressively to counter Reliance Jio which has amassed over 12 crore customers in a short period of time.
According to reports, Bharti Airtel is also working on the launch of a Rs 2,500 4G smartphone before Diwali after Reliance Jio launched Jio Phone at Rs 1500 to attract consumers. Telcos have launched various schemes to counter Jio which has led to a fall in their revenue and profit. Recently, Vodafone launched a new Rs 392 plan for the Delhi-NCR customers in the festive season.
Airtel’s profit and margins took a hit in recent quarters after Jio started its service in last September. In the FYQ1 2017, Airtel reported 75 percent decline in its net profit at Rs 367 crore compared to Rs 1,462 crore in the year-ago quarter, reported.
Although the challenge is tough, the other telecom companies have managed to come up with several value-for-money data and voice calling plans to counter Reliance Jio. In regards to that, to get over from all these competitions, Bharti Airtel has announced several new recharge packs for its prepaid customers ranging from Rs 8 to Rs 399.
Here are the New Plans launched by Airtel:
