E-commerce giant Amazon is once again in the news after selling doormats with images of all religion Gods and Goddesses. On Saturday, one of the customers had seen shocking images and products on Amazon. He had seen Amazon selling doormats with images of Gods and Goddesses on the Amazon International portal.
Going into the details, he found that a seller called Rock Bull is selling a line of products like doormats on Amazon. Not only Hindus sentiments were hurt, but also Muslims and Christians. It was found out that the seller had doormats with Islam-related imagery as well as doormats depicting Jesus.
People belonging to all concerned religions were not pleased with all and #BoycottAmazon soon started trending on Twitter. Though, Amazon is not the direct seller of these products, removed the relevant items, and started issuing apologies to people who left bad reviews or hate tweets.

Amazon says they have escalated this issue to their higher teams, and they’re looking into this matter. The seller is supposed to be a gift items manufacturer which sells phone cases, mouse pads, and key chains with religious imagery on them. This is not the first time that Amazon is in controversy for such issues.

Earlier in 2014, Amazon was involved in a controversy of selling women’s leggings carrying images of various Hindu Gods. As of now, the issue seems to have cooled. A formal explanation by Amazon is still pending.
