A 104-year-old woman went out on her first hunting trip after getting her hunting license and ended up gunning down a deer.
Florence Teeters is now called as the oldest person in Wisconsin to kill a deer.
Bill, her son, helped her gun down the deer.
According to reports, Florence started to develop a taste in hunting after she saw her son in action last year.
Florence got so committed to hunting that she ended up applying for a hunting license and even vowed that she too will kill a deer on her own.
Bill, the son of Florence, took his mother to the blind this year.
He added, “I had a nice chair for her and it was nice and warm. A little after 4 pm, a buck shows up about 30 yards away. I tapped her on the knee and I pointed. She nodded and smiled and was really quiet. Then she took the shot!”
He continued, “She wanted to go hunting because she wanted to experience the part of being out in the stand with the boys. She likes the idea of being out in the woods.”
Florence is all about adventure.
Bill said his mother went zip-lining in Milwaukee and she even goes to the Mardi Gras every year.
Joe Paul, a member of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, called the incident as “fantastic”
Paul added, “Sounds like she comes from a family of hunters so they know what they are doing.”
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is now checking if Florence is the oldest registered Hunter.
Paul does believe Florence is the oldest registered hunter.
Paul even posed for a picture with Florence when she received her license.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, anyone who is born before 1973 is not required to take a hunter’s safety course.
Florence made the cutoff by 58 years.
