Annual Florida Snake Orgy Shuts Down A Part Of Public Park In Florida
Due to the annual Florida snake orgy, a part of the Lake Hollingsworth Park in Lakeland, Florida, has shot down.
Residents of the area started to see snakes, so they reported the sightings to the Lakeland Parks and Recreation Department.
The Public Works Department began investigating, and it turned out that it was the mating season for the Florida Water Snake.
Officials said a large group of snakes gathered near the lake for a giant orgy.
To protect the public, caution tape was placed around the area to increase public awareness that there was a snake orgy going on in the area.
In a post the Public Works Department made on Facebook, they said, “It appears they have congregated for mating.”
They added, “They are non-venomous and generally not aggressive as long as people do not disturb them.”
As soon as the mating season of the snakes is over, the department said the snakes that are in the park will be going to their own path.
The department said the snakes are an important part of the ecosystem and they should not be disturbed.
The department also said that the annual gatherings are done to breed.
The Florida Water Snakes are a native species, which can be found in aquatic environments.
The snakes are generally found resting in tree limbs over water or basing on shorelines.
