Black Panther Spotted Prowling Roofs In A Northern French Town

A black panther was seen lurking through a northern French Town on the afternoon of September 18, 2019.

Local residents alarmed the authorities and were shocked to see the wild cat wandering on the roofs of buildings.

The Black Panther, who is roughly 6-months-old, was found prowling along the window ledges in Armentières, near Lille.

Local news agencies reported that the Black Panther roamed around the town for at least one hour.

BBC reports that the 6-month-old Black Panther was owned by a local.

Before the Black Panther got captured, it is reported that the wild cat walked the stairs of a building and was prowling around when it accidentally got inside an apartment.

Inside the apartment was a girl, luckily, a veterinarian tranquilized the Black Panther.

Luckily, the Black Panther was not aggressive and had its nails clipped.

According to Kader Laghouati, a local animal rescue, the 6-month-old Black Panther was in good shape and health.

Investigators are now speaking with the owner of the Black Panther, and are asking how it broke loose.

After the animal was captured, the wild cat was placed in a cage and was handed over to the local wildlife government officials, who later turned it to the Animal Protection League.

Authorities said only a zoo can obtain a permit to keep a Black Panther.

Officers were ready to gun down the animal if it became aggressive when it was lurking on the apartment and on the building.
