A 66-year-old archery hunter was gored to death by an enraged elk in Oregon.
Mark David, who is 66, shot and wounded an elk with a bow and arrow the night before the incident happened.
David was hunting on private property when he fired at the bull elk but failed to kill the animal on the evening of Saturday.
The incident happened in the Trask Road area, which is located in Tillamook County, Oregon.
The hunter could not find the injured elk before nightfall, so he decided to call it a day and look for it the day after.
He set out with the property owner to find the elk at around 9:15 am on Sunday morning, and they found the animal alive.
David tried to kill the elk with his bow, however, the animal charged at the hunter and gored him in the neck with his antlers.
The owner of the property tried to stop, however, David suffered fatal injuries and passed away.
The elk was killed by the property owner and the meat was donated to the Tillamook County Jail after the investigation.
