A dog that was tied to a fence for 5 straight days after its owners moved away has been rescued by the authorities.

Carter, the husky, had a forever home with Curtis Swan and Aaleyah Clay.

The dog was living with its owners in Roselle, New Jersey when the horrible happened.

On December 4, 2020, a wildlife sanctuary named the Popcorn Park Animal Refuge and shared some bad news.

Carter was brought into their Associated Humane Societies Newark facility with a neck wound that was called by vets as severe.

The owners of the dog left him behind after they moved states and for 5 straight days, the dog was neglected.

For 5 days, the dog did not have any proper food, water, care, and even developed a massive wound on its neck.

During their visit, Carter, a young male husky, had a severely infected open wound encircling a large portion of his neck.

During the visit to the house, an officer found that Carter had a severely infected wound open on his neck.

The incident was later reported to the Roselle Police Department.

An investigation was launched and the authorities found out that the 2 owners had moved to their new house in Georgia.

The owners told the neighbor that they would eventually come back, but they did not tell them when.

Carter was formerly known as Jon Snow.

He was brought to the Newark Branch of Associated Humane Societies of New Jersey.

The dog is currently being treated by experts at the animal shelter.

The shelter did not reveal if they would put the dog up for adoption in the near future.
