Kind-Hearted Residents Of A Town In Wales Come Together To Rescue Tiny Cat From 40ft Tree

Kind-hearted residents of a town in Wales came together to help a tiny adorable cat that got stuck up on a 40ft tree.

Residents of Tredegar, a town that is located in the southeast part of the country, went to rescue the cat from a 40ft tree.

It took them 4 days to rescue the cat, said reports.

36-year-old Leanne Skinner, a resident of the town, talked with the local news agencies and talked about how they got to know that a cat was in need of their help.

They said:

It all started on Saturday when I went for a walk with my friends – I live just up the lane from where the cat is. We were walking back and I heard a cat crying. We looked around for it, in the bushes and everywhere, but we just couldn’t see it. We could just hear this loud and pitiful cry.

Skinner and her friends realized that the cat got stuck on the tree.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) was called and they were informed about the incident.

The RSPCA arrived a day after they were called and the cat still was at the same spot, indicating that it was scared and trapped.

The charity arrived with fire services, but their attempts to rescue Cookie, the cat, were unsuccessful because she ended up going further up the tree.

In the meantime, Skinner posted about the feline on social media and said that people in the town were rooting for the cat’s safety.

Recalling the post and the messages that she got, Skinner said:

I’ve had so many people ringing me and messaging me and offering to help. We’ve now had two cherry pickers out trying to help, and people have tried to get her down with a fishing net and coax her down with food and treats. I just can’t believe the reaction this has had. Who would have thought a little Facebook status would lead to all this? The whole of Tredegar has rallied round and seems to be behind this cat.

A scaffolding company in the town got to know about the cat and her story, so they decided to help.

The company ended up building a structure around the tree to help the cat down, but despite that, it took the cat 4 days until she got down.

4 days after getting the call, the cat got down.

She’s down! 😆Thank goodness she’s safe and can now be reunited with her owners. This truly was a community effort! From…
