To serve and protect!
Kind police officers are viral on the internet right now after they stopped and rescued 2 terrified Pitbulls that were at the side of a busy road.
Patrick Hennessey was driving home to his house at around 4:30 am and he saw something that made him stop.
Despite being exhausted from work, Patrick stopped after he spotted 2 terrified and injured Pitbulls.
They were cuddled together on the side of the road and were whining.
The man stopped right away and called the police.
The 2 kind officers arrived at the scene to rescue the Pitbulls and in a matter of a few minutes, the Pitbulls jumped on the officers and started to lick them.
Dogs could sense when they are safe, and it is just amazing.
One of the officers was bleeding badly due to an injury and medical attention was required, so one of the police officers applied a gauze on the wound and pressed it to stop the bleeding.
The other police officer called animal rescue services.
The police officers believe that the dog was hit by a car, which caused the bleeding.
The officers even hugged the dogs so they could feel warm and safer during the cold morning.
A pedestrian named Adam saw the 2 police officers attending the injured and terrified dogs, so he decided to stop and capture the entire incident on cam.
He took the pictures and sent them to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
He sent the images along with a message that said:
These pictures I took depict a loving nature from our deputies and will tug at any animal lover’s heart strings. Thank you.
The officers believe that the dogs are likely abandoned.
Despite having more important things to do in their work, the officers stuck around the scene and waited until animal rescue services arrived at the scene.
During an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Officer Reed, a police officer that was at the scene, said:
There’s a big misconception when it comes to pitbulls. I can’t tell you how many times I got nuzzled and licked by those dogs. Just a week after we brought them to Animal Services, they were the happiest dogs I’ve ever seen.
The 2 Pitbulls were rushed to the Orange County Animal Services in Florida.
The dogs were later named as Liberty and Justice.
