Incredible photos and video shows an iconic battle to the death between a 28-foot massive anaconda and a crocodile in the waters of a rainforest swamp in Amazon.
Kevin Dooley, a wildlife photographer from Albuquerque, New Mexico, took the amazing pictures and a video of the scene.
He was enjoying his lunch in Pantanal, Brazil when he saw the epic battle between the two jungle animals.
Kevin, who is 58-years-old, was immersed in the Amazon Rainforest on a boat when he saw the fight.
He saw a massive 28-feet anaconda and a caiman, the smallest crocodile species, fighting for their lives.
Dooley explained how he got to witness the amazing fight.
He explained, “I was sitting in a boat having our lunch when this happened. I couldn’t believe it all. I heard all of this splashing, and when I looked I could see the caiman was suffering.”
He added, “It all happened in around eight minutes. I think eventually the anaconda ran out of oxygen and had to let go of the caiman.”
Dooley said he was 30 feet away from the 2 fighting animals.
The snake killed the caiman and got away by slithering out. The massive snake left the crocodile to die alone.
Dooley said he is blessed and lucky to witness the unique battle, and added that he was somewhat sad for the crocodile.
He continued, “I never thought in my life I would witness something like this.”
Dooley also has a piece of advice for those people who accidentally get to encounter a green anaconda in the wild.
Dooley says the best thing you should do is run for your life. Green anacondas are the largest species of snakes in the world. They are capable of growing to 30 feet and to weigh over 250 kilograms.
