Mother Bear And Cub Shot By Russian Navy After Climbing On Nuclear Submarine

The Russian Navy is currently facing heavy backlash on social media after they shot down a bear and its cub after the animals accidentally got on a nuclear submarine.

The video of the incident is heavily shared on social media right now.

The video shows the 2 bears climbing on a vessel.

It is said that the incident happened in the Vilyuchinsk base, which is located in the far eastern region of Kamchatka.

Gunshots could be heard in the video and one of the bears could also be seen falling straight into the water.

Social media users are heavily discriminating the acts of the Russian Navy, saying that killing the animals was completely unnecessary.

Social media users asked why the bears were not scared away or were lured away from the nuclear submarine.

In the video, a person could be heard saying that the bears would just go into local communities if they scare them away.

The Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet spokesperson said that the bear and the cub swam across the Krasheninnikov Bay and climbed on the top of the docked nuclear submarine.

The submarine was near a village named Rybachiy.

The spokesperson said that a hunting expert and an instructor from the Military town of Vilyuchinsk were called to kill the bears with a specialized hunting weapon.
