A mother dog is making headlines all over the world after she adopted 3 adorable kittens. It is reported that the mother dog lost her own puppies earlier this year.
Sunshine Dog Rescue, an NGO based in Phoenix, Arizona, shared the adorable story of Georgia on Facebook.
Georgia, an Australian shepherd mix, was found near the US-Mexico border while she was pregnant. however, her puppies were born premature and they all passed away.
Anita Osa, the founder of Sunshine Dog Rescue, said:
I’ve never had a mom dog lose a whole litter before. The best way I could describe it was she was frantic. It was so sad, she was looking for those babies. She tore up the toddler mattress we had her on, trying to find her babies.
In order to comfort Georgia, Osa placed a call for help on social media, asking for animals that would need a lactating mother dog.
Well, instead of getting a kind of her own, a call led her to connect with 3 adorable kittens that were orphans.
She was initially hesitant about introducing the kittens to Georgia, so Ms. Osa was surprised to see the instant bond that the animals had formed.
Osa said:
I introduced them to her gently. I first bought one out and let her sniff it, and she seemed to accept it, so I brought the others out. It’s amazing to see how she instantly calmed down. I think for the kittens, they have no idea that Georgia is a dog.

It is reported that Georgia is a good mother and takes her job as a mother in a very serious manner.
