Terrified residents in Davao del Sur had to witness a stomach-churning moment when a cobra was found swallowing a whole python.
Residents in a village at Davao del Sur in the south of the country on Wednesday afternoon saw a venomous Philippine cobra swallowing a massive pithing in a rice field.
The villagers said they saw the tail of the python hanging from its jaws.
The locals reportedly gathered men to kill the snake, which has been responsible for the death of a number of people.
After killing the cobra, the villagers cut open the cobra and found the python inside its stomach.
A villager said that there are a lot of snakes in their area due to the rice fields, but this was the first time that they witnessed a cobra eating a python.
The villager added, “We’ve had people die from cobra bites before so my neighbor killed the snake as soon as he saw it.”
According to reports, the incident happened in a remote village near Kibalawan, which is located in Mindanao, a southern island in the Philippines.
Reports also suggest that the cobra was around 12 ft long, and the python was around 6ft to 8ft.
