Matt Wright, who is called by many as the new Steve Irwin, was recently seen battling with a 15-foot crocodile for a show.
Steve Irwin is known for his daring encounters with venomous snakes, reptiles, and any other animal that would freak out a normal person.
Matt is trying to revive that way of becoming an animal person. Matt is part of the Monster Croc Wrangler show, which is available at National Geographic Wild.
The 36-year-old croc hunter is a helicopter pilot and animal conservationist with an amazing love for animals.
The “Monster Croc Wrangler” is currently in its 4th season and people love what Matt does.
Usually, people compare Matt with Steve Irwin. A lot of viewers say he has the save courage and love for the animals as the legend has.
Talking about the record of Matt, he said the biggest crocodile he had ever caught by himself is an 18-foot long crocodile.
During his interview with Daily Star, Matt talked about his work.
Matt said, “It’s human-animal conflict but the animals deserve to be there and humans encroach on their land and destroy their environment so it’s only fair we try and find them a new home.”
He added, “Crocs are just an animal, they’re quite predictable, They don’t really see humans as a food source and they don’t want to go chasing things that are too big for them because it takes too much effort for them to tear up and eat it.”
He continued, “Ideally they’d like to eat a small wallaby or a dog or a cat.. something that’s a bit smaller. We do have a problem with some of the bigger ones chewing on cattle because the young cattle go down to the waterways and they get themselves into trouble. The crocodile eats them up down the waterways – that’s where the conflict comes in when we have to come in and move them.”
You can watch Monster Croc Wrangler on Nat Geo Wild.
The next episode of the show is going to air on October 22, 2019, and it will show the croc wrangler tackling crocs.
