A video that is viral on social media right shows the moment a grizzly bear and a young bison fight to death next to a parking lot at the Yellowstone National Park, USA.
Michael Daus, the man that shot the entire video, shared it along with the caption of: “The gloves are off!”
Daus said he filmed the entire video when he visited the Yellowstone National Park with his family on May 31, 2020.
The video shows the larger bison storming the grizzly bear, who at first tries to scamper away.
The bear then stroke back with chomping down on the hindquarters of the bison, dragging it to a nearby lake and drowning the animal.
The incident happened when Daus and his entire family returned.
Talking about the incident, Daus said:
We weren’t crazy about returning to find the bear so close, just beyond the opposite side of the small parking area. We didn’t even see it until we were at our vehicle. I was particularly relieved that the bear seemed more interested in the bison, so while very close to the car, we simply maintained what felt like a safe distance.
Wolves and bears are just the 2 predators of an adult bison at the Yellowstone National Park, USA.
Here are some of the comments that were made on the video:

I don’t know if you have any idea how rare and special is this footage you captured. We’ve never come anywhere close. It is particularly amazing that you photographed this in the Midway Geyser Basin. Grizzly shots in that area are very rare. The good thing for the young bear is that he finished the kill when he was about 100 yards down the Firehole River. Had he finished the kill where he started the attack, the Park Service would have surely removed the carcass and he would have gotten no reward for all his trouble. As it stands, he better eat fast. Just as soon as a bigger bear or a pack of wolves smells the kill, he’ll lose it. But, Congratulations on some terrific wildlife footage!”
