Watch: Vets Pull Out Beach Towel That Was Swallowed By Massive Python

Pythons are known for capable of swallowing food that is twice their size, which makes them extremely deadly, but due to the waste that humans produce, the snakes are swallowing other things too.

In the most recent WTF moment, a snake was caught swallowing a beach towel.

Monty, an 18-year-old carpet python, had to be brought to the vets so the towel that she swallowed can be pulled out.

A video of the towel being removed from the snake was shared by the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) along with the caption: “Monty Python and the missing beach towel.”

The caption added, “We see all kinds of interesting cases in our Avian and Exotics department, but it’s not every day we see something quite as unusual and as extraordinary as this case.”

Money, a jungle carpet python, was taken to the Avian and Exotics Department after she was spotted swallowing a beach towel a night before.

Weighing at 5 kilograms and 3 meters long, the python was anesthetized radiographed to confirm the location of the start of the towel.

The hospital said a flexible endoscope was placed down the gastrointestinal tract of Monty.

The endoscope allowed the vets to see the massive towel inside the stomach.

The hospital explained, “A flexible endoscope was placed down Monty’s gastrointestinal tract, which allowed us to visualize the end of the towel sitting in her stomach. With assistance from our internal medicine team, very long forceps were placed through the endoscope and used to grasp the towel. Once we had a good grip, the towel was able to be carefully removed from the gastrointestinal tract with endoscopic guidance.”

After removing the towel from the snake’s stomach, Monty was discharged.

It is extremely sad to think that a snake is now swallowing and trying to eat beach towels.
