[Watch Video] Indian Pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s Grandfather Drives an Auto To Earn A Living

Young India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has established himself as one of the best bowlers in world cricket. In his very short career, he has emerged as one of the most deadly bowlers in international cricket right now.

Known for his unique action, Bumrah made a name for himself in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is now India’s best death overs pacer. He is a rising star and currently the No 2 bowler in the T20 format in the world and also the current most reliable bowler when it comes to death bowling.

While Bhumrah is enjoying considerate of fame and fan base, it is being reported that his grandfather is living in abject poverty and extremely difficult condition. Jasprit Bumrah’s grandfather Santokh Singh Bumrah drives an auto and lives in a rented house to meet ends meet.

Well, it’s a story of fate taking turns, twisted circumstances, love and an unending bond between a grandfather and his grandson.

According to several media reports, Jasprit Bumrah’s grandfather Santokh Singh Bumrah resides in Uddham Singh Nagar of Uttarakhand and has been driving a tempo to sustain himself since he moved here from Ahmedabad. Santokh Singh Bumrah’s story is upsetting and pretty sad.

He had a big business set up and owned three factories, he had a flourishing business which he took care with his son Jasveer Singh Bumrah, Jasprit’s father. In 2001, Jasprit Bumrah’s father Jasveer died suddenly and that shattered Santokh Singh Bumrah. He lost his business and in order to repay loans he had to sell off his factories.

The fast bowler was separated from his grandfather in 2001 after his father died and was raised by his mother and her family. Now after 17 long years, the grandfather wants to hug his grandson one last time before he dies.

Later, Santokh Singh Bumrah then moved to Uddham Singh Nagar in 2006. After selling his three factories, he bought four tempos and decided to embark on a new business. However, he suffered losses in this as well and had to sell off three tempos. The remaining left auto he drives himself to make ends meet and for his survival.

Santokh Bumrah is 84 years old and is a proud grandfather when he said that

It feels great to see Jasprit on television screen performing so well in international matches. I pray to god for his success and meet him once before I die

While speaking to an Indian TV news channel, Jasprit Bumrah’s grandfather Santokh Singh said,

I cannot describe my happiness when I see him bowling on TV, I wish he become the best bowler in the world.

His last wish is that his celebrity grandsons should visit him once and hug him, once Bumrah meets him all his sufferings will be over.

Santosh Singh Bumrah believes that if his wish comes true, it will be a golden phase of his life. He wants to give this message to his grandson via the media. It seems like Bumrah’s grandfather doesn’t want any financial help from him but wants to see his proud grandson as he hasn’t met him from a long time.
