After achieving an unprecedented success in cosmetics, Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali has become India’s most trusted FMCG under Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and its latest move the company has decided to enter telecom sector. You read it right Baba Ramdev led Patanjali has not only decided but entered the telecom sector on Sunday when it launched Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards in an event on Sunday at Haridwar.
To make this possible, Patanjali now tied up with the state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). Initially, these SIMs will be available only to the employees and office bearers of Patanjali. The SIM card users can get discount of 10 percent on Patanjali products with this card. As far as the plans are concerned, in Rs 144, users will get unlimited calls across the country, 2 GB data and 100 SMSs.
“Govt-owned BSNL is a Swadeshi network and the motive of both the companies is the welfare of the country. In addition to attractive data and call package, the Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM also comes with the medical and life insurance covers of Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, respectively,” Ramdev said at the launch.
“This plan is so far BSNL’s best plan in which one can make unlimited calls from any part of the country. The company is also giving 2 GB data pack, 100 SMSs. The members of the Patanjali just need to show their identity and there SIMs will be activated soon after verification and some paperwork,” Ramdev said.
