Salman Khan’s next, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, has been shot in several cities, but it was in Kashmir that the team shot some of the most crucial scenes during a 45-day schedule .Looks like Kabir Khan has left no stone unturned to make sure that his much talked about movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan looks stunning in every frame. Yes, Salman Khan starrer promises to dish out a climax that will be both visually stunning and it will surprise you with its terrfific action sequence. We haer the said climax has been shot at 10,000 feet above sea level. The story does not end there. We also gather that more than 7000 extras and a crew of 300 technicians would trek for an hour everyday at the top of the peak. Add to the woes the hailstorn and sub-zero temperatures and you will know the gravity of the challenge! Kabir Khan himself selected all the locations for the movie. He wanted the climax was shot at the base of the Thajiwas glacier in Sonamarg.
“The climax of the film was shot at the base of the Thajiwas glacier in Sonamarg, which is 10,000 ft above sea level. The 300-strong technical crew had to trek for an hour through snow every morning to reach the location. Added to this, were the 7,000 extras that we had on set every day. Transporting them in buses, and then embarking on the hour-long trek was a huge logistical challenge for the production. To add to their woes were the sub-zero temperatures, and hail storms that would interrupt the shoot,” says director Kabir Khan recounting the challenges of shooting the film.
Apparently, Kabir handpicked each location for the climax of the film, which has been produced by Salman and Rockline Venkatesh, and will be distributed worldwide by Eros International. “We shot the climax in the heart of Kashmir, surrounded by snow-clad mountains. The sheer scale at which it is shot is overwhelming. Kabir has shot an incredible climax with Salman and Kareena, which is packed with action and emotion. We always knew this would be a challenging shoot, but the cast and crew, despite 18-hour days, managed to do it, and the results are spectacular,” says Amar Butala, co-producer and COO of Salman Khan Films.
