Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday met US President Barack Obama and discussed a host of issues, including stepping up economic engagement and climate change, during their third meeting in about a year. Modi thanks Obama for support for India’s demand for permanent membership to the UNSC.
President Barack Obama referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as President in the middle of a statement he made at the end of their meeting on Monday.
In the video of his remarks posted on the White House web site, Obama can be heard saying, “We are encouraged by the aggressive nature of President Modi’s commitment to clean energy.”
The slip was recorded in the first White House transcript of his remarks.
Later, the White House reissued the transcript correcting “president” to “prime minister”.
