Bharti Airtel Ups In Data War, Offers 1,000 GB Bonus Data To Broadband Users

It is pretty well known that right from the very inception, Reliance JIO has been kicking aside the stereotypic Internet offers, call cutters and other recharge benefits of all the Mobile network companies. Within no time, this telecom firm occupied the large parts of domestic businesses.

The private telecom players such as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are constantly pushing themselves into gaining new customers for their services. Thus, both the telecom providers have been offering never-seen-before offers to claim the top position in the Indian telecom industry.

With Reliance Jio set to enter the broadband segment, Airtel has launched a massive offer called ‘Airtel Broadband Big Bytes’, for its broadband users. Bharti Airtel is offering 1,000 GB of high-speed data to its broadband customers in a limited-period scheme, amid heightened competition in the telecom sector, triggered by Reliance Jio’s aggressive offering.

Details Of The Plan:

Under Airtel’s new scheme, users can get between 500-1,000 GB of Bonus data on monthly rental plans starting at Rs 599 and range up to Rs 1,999. This bonus data comes in speeds from 8 Mbps to 100 Mbps depending on the plan. And this offer is “valid only for online purchase” until March 31, 2018. The scheme is not valid for special, commercial or enterprise plans and cannot be combined with any other offer by Airtel.

Airtel’s Broadband Big Byte Offer is available for customers subscribing to its DSL services on or after June 12, 2017, it said. “The Offer is valid only in India and redeemable only upon taking fresh subscriptions to Airtel’s select DSL broadband rental plans in accordance with the present terms and conditions,” Airtel said.

In the National Capital Region, Airtel is offering 1000 GB of bonus data in monthly rental plans of Rs. 1099, Rs. 1299, Rs. 1499 and Rs. 1799. Airtel’s broadband plans come with a phone connection and also include calls – local as well as STD.

How To Avail The 1,000 GB Offer:

1. To avail the offer, eligible customers are required to visit the page www.airtel.in/broadband and select base plan.

2. Now enter your mobile number and address to raise a request for a new broadband connection or contact customer care to apply for subscription to Airtel Broadband services.

3. The additional data benefit will be applicable seven days after activation of the connection and only after the customer exhausts the base plan quota – a predefined quantity of data that comes with a plan.

“Upon subscription to one of the select plans under the present Offer, and upon expiry of a period of 7 days following the date of activation of their new connection, a customer shall, subject to feasibility at the point of connection, be able to enjoy additional big byte GB, in addition to the base plan chosen by them, which may be enjoyed at the same speed as per chosen base plan (‘Free Subscription Internet’),” the Airtel website noted.

What Happens To Unused Data?

Big Byte GB will be consumed only after base plan quota consumption by the customer. Un-used Big Bytes data will be carried over each month till 31st March 2018 or the GBs getting over whichever is first. For example, if 500 GB Big Bytes is provisioned to the customer with a base plan quota of 60 GB, then Big Byte GB consumption will start after the customer consumes the 60 GBs of the plan.
