Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu launched the wi-fi services in Odisha Capital, Bhubaneshwar Station. This is a good news for all the passengers as they can enjoy these wi-fi services at the railway station of Bhubaneshwar. While waiting at the station the passengers can make use of this wifi services which is a very high-speed internet facility.
This service is provided by RailTel a railway PSU in association with Google for providing high-speed state-of-the-art world class internet experience to commuters, with this wi-fi facility for the visitors and rail users of Bhubaneshwar.
Previously Google`s Wi-fi service was launched at Mumbai Central station as part of the Ministry`s plan is to provide this service to about 100 stations by the year end.
Dedicating the Wi-Fi service to the passengers at the Bhubaneswar station, Mr. Prabhu said, “We are soon going to launch Wi-Fi at 16 more stations and will cover 100 stations by the end of this year. This facility at Bhubaneswar will enable the thousands of passengers commuting through this station to enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi service.”
The estimation is actual to provide Wi-fi services to 400 stations, out of which 100 stations are being commissioned this year among them Ranchi, Raipur, Kacheguda (Secunderabad), Vijayawada, Ernakulam, Vishakhapatnam will soon be equipped.
Remaining stations will be equipped with Wi-fi services by this year end that is December 2016. Other stations will provide Wi-fi by next year the initiation regarding this will be taken from 2017. As per the arrangement, the RailTel with Google which is a technology partner will provide wi-fi for the use of passengers at many major stations in our country.
