Investigators from Florida are trying to find out how a 45-year-old man died after his body was found partially eaten by an alligator. His body was found in a canal while it was floating.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office released the identity of the dead body.
The authorities said that the body of 45-year-old Michael Ford II was found floating in a canal that was located around a property that is owned by Mosaic.
When an employee of Mosaic found the body floating around the canal, “A large alligator had a part of Ford’s body in his mouth.”
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has trapped and killed the alligator so they could perform a necropsy on the animal.
The Conservation Commission, which is also taking part in the ongoing investigation, found “Ford’s hand and foot were found inside the gator’s stomach.”
The body of Michael Ford had a number of injuries that were caused by the Alligator.
According to a statement that was released by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the cause of Ford’s death is drowning.
The office is currently waiting for the toxicology results of Ford so they could release the final cause of his death.
Investigators from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office have also seized a truck that was found at the scene of the crime.
The found truck belongs to a friend of Michael Ford who agreed to sell it to him.
According to the family and friends of Michael Ford, they haven’t heard from him since the 23rd of June.
