British Woman Among 2 People Who Were Shot Dead By Unidentified Gunmen Who Attacked A Holiday Resort In Nigeria  

The death of Faye Mooney, a British woman who was working in Nigeria, was confirmed by the British High Commission.

Faye was working in Nigeria and was killed by unidentified gunmen while she was on a holiday at Kaduna, a city in the northern part of Nigeria.

The local police said that 3 other people were kidnapped on Friday, they added that a Nigerian man was also killed in the shootout.

Kidnapping foreigners and high-profile Nigerians are common in the country.

Faye Mooney was working as a communication specialist for an organization called Mercy Corps, which is non-governmental.

The organization was “utterly heartbroken” when the news reached them.

Neal Keny-Guyer, the chief executive of Mercy Corps said that Faye worked for the organization for 2 years and was “leading efforts to counter hate speech and violence” in the country.

Neal added that Faye was “an inspiration to us all.”

Faye Mooney graduated from the University College London and the London School of Economics.

Faye has also worked in Kosovo and Iraq.

Nigerian Authorities said that no group has claimed the responsibility of the attack and are currently trying to identify the kidnappers.

A spokesman said that a group entered the Kajuru Castle and started to shoot, which killed 2 people, they also kidnapped 3 other people.

The spokesman added that the group was armed with dangerous weapons.
