BSNL is believed to have once again given a boost to its FTTH (Fiber to the Home) broadband plans by revising them to offer extra data with more faster broadband speeds in the Chennai circle. The plans having price tags as Rs. 999, Rs. 1,299, Rs. 1,699, Rs. 1,999, Rs. 2,999, and Rs. 4,999 are reportedly been upgraded in the Chennai circle to provide with more benefits along with speeds reaching up to 100 Mbps and high-speed data limits of up to 3.5TB, with the condition of refreshing them on monthly basis. The move seems to be an counter by the state-owned operator to the recently launched Jio GigaFiber.
As per the report by Telecom Talk, the BSNL FTTH broadband plan with Rs. 999 price tag now provides 80Mbps of download/upload speeds at a high speed limit of about 600GB in the Chennai circle. The report further says that users are allowed to access the internet at 2Mbps after FUP get over. The plan is said to be availing free unlimited voice calls to any network across India. Earlier, the same plan offered 250GB high speed data with 60Mbps of speed.
Then comes the plan FTTH broadband plan with a price of Rs. 1,299 for which the company is said to be offering now with 800GB of high speed limit at a speed of 100Mbps, and this can be compared to 400GB with a speed of 80Mbps earlier. The plan with Rs. 1,699 price has been refreshed to offer a total of 1.1TB or 1,100GB of data with the same speed of 100Mbps as per the report. Before the plans were refreshed, the same plan came with the offer of 550GB with speeds of up to 80Mbps. The plan with Rs. 1,999 price for broadband plan is also said to have been now upgraded to offer 100Mbps of speed with usage limit of upto 1.4TB, and this can be compared to the earlier 800GB of data at 80Mbps.
The BSNL Fibro Combo ULD Rs. 2,999 broadband plan is reportedly being offered with upload and download speeds of as much as 2TB at speeds of 100Mbps. The same plan was earlier being offered with 900GB of data at a speed of up to 80Mbps in the Chennai circle. And now comes the turn of the premium Rs. 4,999 broadband plan which is now reported to be getting a great 3.5TB of data at 100Mbps speeds. The same pack was earlier being offered with 1.5TB of data access at the same rate of 100Mbps.
Above said all of the plans have a post-FUP speed of 2Mbps and free voice calling facility across India, the reports says. Moreover, all subscribers will be given a free email ID with a total storage of 1GB free storage space. Along with that, a free static IP address can also be asked for.
