As we all know, the New Year celebrations in Bengaluru turned out to be a nightmare for the women. There are many incidents coming into limelight after two days of celebrations. The police are collecting some CCTV Footages and “credible evidence” of molestation across the city.
After Bengaluru Home Minister, G Parameshwara reaction on mass molestation, Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi shocked everyone with his crass comment saying whatever happened in Bengaluru on New Year’s Eve was bound to happen because women were wearing short dresses.
Abu Azmi blamed Bengaluru women for all that happened during the New year celebration at MG Road and Brigade Road. He said women should follow Indian culture and should not step out at night. Adding further he said, women should step out with their family members at night and not be alone. He said, “I have five daughters and I will not allow them to walk out at night without family members”.
“You have to keep petrol away from fire. And if there is sugar, ants will come automatically to it. In today’s world, the more a woman is nude, the more she is considered modern and educated. Western culture is a black spot on country’s culture and it should be stopped at the earliest.”
In an offensive sexist remark, Azmi claimed, “It was bound to happen. Woman call nudity fashion. They were wearing short dresses. Women must step out with family. It won’t be right for my sister or daughter to go out at night without male members of the family.”
