Chhattisgarh Nurse Braves Crocodile-Infested Waters To Provide Healthcare To Villagers Everyday

It doesn’t matter which job we are doing or how much we are making, we always make the habit of cringing about our jobs. This more happens when we have to commute with our work and we have to the work through the traffic jams, navigate the routes or get squashed in the trains. Duh, even the air-conditioned metro commuters have their own reasons to hate the job.

And here, we are going to know about the story of Sunia Thakur from Chhattisgarh, who is making all our problems a cakewalk with her job dedication. The job of Thakur is at Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM). As part of her job, she has to cross the crocodile infested waters to attend the villagers in the remote areas of Naxal effected Dantewada, Chattisgarh, every day.

To accomplish her job, she makes the use of a ferry to cross the crocodile infested waters of the river Indravati to provide the services to the pregnant woman and the newly born babies. But no, that is not the thing that is daunting as part of her ‘work commute’.

She has to walk a long way after crossing the river, facing not less dangerous threats than crossing the crocodile infested waters.

Doesn’t it make it wonder or scare her about her job commutes? But, has she never thought of giving up? The answer is no!

She has been doing this for the last seven years now and her boat has been attacked by crocodiles numerous times. On experiencing all these, Sunita, like any other person would have thought about quitting her job, but no! She did not do that.

She still passes through the same waters and serves the people there.

More power to you, Sunita Thakur! Kudos! The dangers you face are nothing before your dedication to serving others.
